Joaquim Gouveia

 

Joaquim Gouveia discovered circus at Noctambules circus school in Nanterre (FR). He trained at Annie Fratellini national circus school and created his first aerial straps show at cirque Romanès in Paris in 1998. Then, he worked with several companies, Le Cirque (Argentina), Festival de circo de Belo Horizonte (Brazil), at Bastille opera directed by Colline Serreau, with Cie Acronte, Cie Lunatic, Cie Armance Brown, Bruno Krief, and collaborated with Maria João Pires, Vo’Arte, and André Sardet in Portugal.

He also worked with artists who influenced his artistic vision, such as Dominique Pifarély, Louis Sclavis, Marc Ducret, Dziz, François Merville, Bruno Chevillon, Gilles Zaepffel, Mathieux Malgrange, Marin Magne, Bruno Krieff.

He created his own company, Circo Saudade, and was Jeunes Talents Cirque laureate. He has been teaching circus since 2009 at Shems’y circus school (Morocco) and Armazém 13 with ADN association, and keeps on developing his personal projects.
