Defracto

 

Founded in 2008 by Guillaume Martinet, David Maillard, Minh Tam Kaplan and Laure Caillat, Defracto is conceived to host the juggling creation projects of the members of the company. The aim is to create a body and juggling language.

Guillaume Martinet won the special prize of the jury of Festival mondial du Cirque de demain in 2009 with a solo creation, “Cinétique TOC”.

A pedagogical project for all kinds of audiences and contexts created and leaded by Guillaume Martinet, Audrey Jacquiot and Laure Caillat was born at that period and continued until 2015. The company was Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe laureate in 2010 with the duo “Circuits fermés”, created by David Maillard, Minh Tam Kaplan and Guillaume Martinet. This piece was presented more than a hundred times in more than 30 countries in Europe, Africa and South America.

In 2014, the video project “Digink” corealized with Eloi Prieur won the Premier prix of Festival international de Jonglerie en Image.

“Flaque”, created by Eric Longequel, Guillaume Martinet and David Maillard won the prize of the best show at the international street arts festival in Valladolid in 2015. Since the premiere in November 2013, the piece has been played more than 160 times across Europe, Africa and Oceania. Other tours are coming, for instance in Japan in 2016. In 2015, Van Kim Tran, André Hidalgo, Fanny Roz and Samantha Lopeza joined the team to develop the “Dystonie”, that it premiered in spring 2017.
